For this paper I decide to go to one of my brother’s track meets since I used to run. It seemed a lot different being a spectator instead of participating. It was a big track meet so there were a lot of teams in attendance.

When interviewing an athlete and a spectator/parent I got answers that I pretty much expected to hear. The runner was a sprinter and just finished his 400 meter dash. He said that he thought he did okay but he wouldn’t know if he made it to the finals until later that day. Track and Field but he also liked football. His “household” family attends the meet that are in the area that they live in. For him the most fun thing about the meets was winning and of course the worst was getting beat by a lot. The runner has a couple of close friends on the team, and likes to walk around with them between races and try to talk to girls from other schools. She practices with her team Monday through Friday when they don’t have meets, and on weekends they bring her to a track to practice. They are hoping she will get a full scholarship so she can pay for college. The father stated that the mother could be a little too into it at times. For the most part they schedule other events around her track meets. The athlete has other siblings that are in elementary school, but they will be in sports when they get older. To get ready for her races she listens to music and chews on strong flavored mint gum. She does not
