Abstract

Human’s history has been in the 21st century, and in recent years, diversity as a phenomenon in organization has been more and more widely recognized by people, especially in North America.

Diversity is an unstoppable tendency of this world, while the culture and economic globalization become much deeper impact on human society nowadays. In Canada and the USA, many people from different countries have participated in every sector, industry and business.

Therefore, all fields face on a new challenge that diversity have its merits and also will lead to some issues, and people want to find out how to deal with diversity well. This essay will discuss the diversity in educational fields include its strongpoint, shortcomings and suggestions. And especially it will focus on the three types of diversity as below:

Diversity has been a new topic of the management science. And what is diversity meaning?

“Diversity - the current term used to describe a vast range of cultural differences that have become factors needing attention in living and working together. Often applied to organizational and training interventions that seek to deal with the interface of people who are different from one another.” (Harris, Philip R., 1996). Diversity is a phenomenon of an organization that shows the variety of characteristics which make individuals unique in the environment. These characteristics include as follow, primary types: culture, race, age, gender, colour etc.; and secondary types: education level, economic background, marital status, career status, sexual orientation etc.
