Need Assessment:

Although Apple Inc is a successful company in the computer industry, it has been facing communication problems between employees, between low-level sales and administration in particular. Apple Inc has a high level of security, it seems to be a good thing because it helps the organization protect the ideas of productions from their competitors. Unfortunately, no one notices that an extremely high security also minimizes the communication between the entire organizations. Executive employees, who develop new project, have to totally separate themselves from other employees. No one knows what the product looks like till it is released except for the people selected to work on it (Greenfield, 2011). It also means the employee who is working on the project is not allowed to share ideas or discuss the project with others, including official employees. It could diminish creativity and productivity because of the lack of communication in the organization due to the extremely high security of Apple. Moreover, lacking communication in Apple not only affects those at the administration level but also the store employees because they are not able to access much information about new products that they will be selling to the customers. However, the customers would not be happy when they have to spend a huge amount of money on Apple products without knowing much detail of what they are purchasing. Importantly, limited vertical communication would decrease morale of the employees since they do not have much of a chance to communicate with their superiors to show them their work ethic or let them see when they deserve a raise (Smith, 2011).
