Student’s Social Challenges

The three major widespread problems for a student outside the classroom world would be gangs, alcohol, and drug abuse.

Now day’s children face so much more. The alcohol and drug abuse tope I would say that the school must have a plan that teaches the students the cause and effect to why it would be a bad idea to use drugs or alcohol. Just like they do in health class they teach the consequence of having unprotected sex and what it can do to you and your body if you get a STD. Just like with drugs and alcohol they ruin people’s life and even their health. I would also request that a police officer to come to the classroom and share the results of a person who abuses alcohol and drugs. They could also tell stories concerning people that were alcoholics or drug users.

Gangs are everywhere and increasing more and more it is significant for children to understand that this is not a route they want to go in life. Regardless of how cool the gang members look by how they dress, what they say, or even how they act and how people react to them children need to understand what happens to people that are in gangs. I believe all schools should have an anti-gang policy. Having this method will get everybody involved I would even propose it to the parents. By doing this it will assist the parents know the indications of possible gang association. Even like the drug and alcohol abuse proposal it may be a good idea to have a person who thought gangs were cool or who used to be in a gang come to the school and tell children what happens in gangs and that gangs are not cool to be.

A lot of children do not even know how people get in gangs they just think it’s the cool thing to do and a lot of children just want to fit in and be the “cool” kids.
