General Information Ar 670-1 and Responsibilities

Only uniforms or accessories are approved by Headquarters, Department of the Army, will be upheld by people in the U.S. Army. Unless in this the commander puts out a command for clothing and equipment. No item will be altered in any way that changes the design or the concept, or remove metal items, or altering the color.

AR 670–1 describes the Department of the Army (DA) policies, responsibilities, and administrative procedures for all clothing and individual equipment used by Army personnel is to be, designed, developed, tested, approved, fielded, and modified.

70-1 Policies are responsibilities and funding for protective clothing and equipment.

No person but an Army person may wear the uniform of the U.S. Army unless, authorized by law. In addition, no person except a member of the U.S. Army may wear a uniform, or any part the uniform that is like part of the U.S. Army uniform. This includes the distinctive uniforms and items of this uniform. Furthermore, soldiers are authorized to make general comments and suggestions. Comments and suggestions about the policy, unit, and decorations will be processed in accordance.

Service and utility or field uniforms for the male class A service uniform consists of coat and trousers, a short- or long-sleeved 415 shirt with a black four-in-hand tie, and other authorized accessories. The male class B service uniform is the same as class A, the service coat is not worn. The black four-in hand tie is required with the long-sleeved 415 shirt when the long-sleeved shirt is worn without the class A coat, as an outer garment; the tie is optional with the short-sleeved shirt. The female class A service uniform consists of the coat and skirt or slacks, a short- or long-sleeved 415 shirt with a black neck tab, and other authorized accessories. The uniform is also classified as a class A service uniform when the tunic is worn. When the tunic is worn, females will wear the neck tab with both the short- and long-sleeved shirts....
