Slow Down in Neighborhoods

In this day and time people are in such a rush to do something or get somewhere that is not important. For the most part my neighborhood is safe, outside of normal crimes that every neighborhood endures. I have lived in my neighborhood for three years. As the years pass by, I am starting to notice the number of people speeding in and out of the neighborhood has increased dramatically. The police do drive through every once in a while, but they do show up fast when called out, that could be because they are located right outside the neighborhood. Photo-radars have been used for more than 30 years; these employ radar to detect speeding, take photographs of speeding vehicles, and issue their drivers citations by mail. Speed display boards are a newer device (developed in the late 1980s). Drivers learn their speed when it is flashed next to the posted speed limit sign according to usroads.com. Photo radars or speed display boards would be beneficial in my neighborhood because they would punish the people who speed, ensure we have a safer neighborhood, keep anyone from getting hurt and avoid any property damage. People who speed in and out of my neighborhood would be punished if we had Photo radars or speed display boards because there would be something in place to capture the vehicle information and the driver would receive a ticket in the mail after they were caught going over the posted speed limit. According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2009 North Carolina had 1314 traffic fatalities and 13 of them were Non interstate driving with the driver traveling under 35 mph. That means that 13 people were killed by a driver only driving ten miles over my neighborhood speed limit. According to Fatality Data - NCSA Fatality Analysis Reporting System, in 2009 Cumberland County had 27 Fatalities in Crashes Involving Speeding. This...
