Due to team member D deploying to Hungary the team was forced to modify the guidelines set forth in week one for the final project. This process was done through the brainstorming problem solving technique. Upon member D notifying the team of his urgent deployment the team assembled by phone to share the ideas that they had thought of on how to complete the final project with the absence of one member. All the members voiced their ideas during the conference call. Each idea was analyzed and discussed in full detail. After a long discussion, they managed to cover positive versus negative; strengths versus weaknesses; and effective versus futile aspects for each of the members’ ideas. In this phase the team experienced all five instances of managing conflict; accommodation, avoidance, compromise, competition, and collaboration. The team with direction from their team leader managed to organize and effectively decide upon an agreed strategy on how to proceed. They all decided that since member D would have some time to work on the project during member D’s trip overseas member D would be tasked with the final details that the project needed to be complete. Since there was a two-hour layover member D agreed to take their laptop as a carry on and continue their participation in the group. All the team members would forward their individual parts to team member D. Team member D would attempt to compile all the parts into one cohesive document as the final contribution to the team project. During the process if member D had any questions the team would be available by phone. If however the member were unable to finish compiling the project, member D would send his progress on to the team for final review.

The team proceeded with the plan set forth in the last team meeting. Each member forwarded his or her parts to team member D for review. Upon arrival in New Jersey team member D set themselves up in an area of the airport where they would not be bothered. Member D...
