Healthcare funding is a very important aspect in the healthcare system. The healthcare system runs on the payments made by patients, insurance companies and private institutions to cover for the expenses generated by patient care including various things such as diagnosis, treatment, surgery and management etc. Each department has different approaches to get funded for its effective running. The method with which the department is funded depends upon the type of services it offers. Ambulatory care covers a wide range of health care services that are provided for patients who are not admitted overnight to a hospital. These services are performed at outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, emergency rooms, ambulatory or same-day surgery centers, diagnostic and imaging centers, primary care centers, community health centers, occupational health centers, mental health clinics, and group practices. Ambulatory services are the services offered to patients if they are to be accommodated within the compounds of the healthcare institution under professional nursing care due to either the severity of their health or due to the recommendations of their physician or surgeon. There are different methods in which ambulatory services are funded. The method is also dependent upon the patient. For example, if the patient is insured, he/she shall contact his insurance company to cover up for the healthcare services that he is availing in the hospital. The insurance company shall have to be provided with the details of this health condition by the institution to ensure that the claim made by the patient is true.
