Relativism and Morality

Self-respect has seemed to decrease over the years. At one point it was great for everyone uplift, empathize, and show others sympathy towards others. These days when someone shows leniency towards another it comes as a total shock. Many things can be interpreted as wrong or just. At what point would you draw the line to determine if an action is morally wrong or not? I think Goodman’s article “Some Moral Minima” paints a clear path on what’s acceptable and what’s wrong.

I think it is wrong to make someone you slave. Would you like to become a slave to some one? I do not understand how one can enslave another human being. They are degrading themselves as well. How are they degrading themselves you may ask? The slave and the master are of the same species so that means the master is degrading himself as well. If you look at other species they stick together and hunt different animals and not each other for the most part. So just imagine as the other species we place lower than ourselves may think of our actions on our own. Do the animals fear us because we are smarter or because we seem crazy in our actions because we are not stronger than many species?

I also do not understand how people think incest is right in any way. How could someone have involvement with an immediate family member? I do not think it is the right thing to do. It is not a very appealing thing in my opinion. Even without the possible birth defects the children born into incest but the thought of the treatment they would get from other kids comes to mind. I remember being made fun of just because my parents were no from America even by others of the same race. This was an everyday all day thing. I would guess the same would happen to those kids every day being made fun of. Incest affects every individual in the family. We no longer live in a time were bloodline is...
