SCRIPT

Jingle: (timer-noise followed by explosion) Blast FM 107.9…blows your mind away.

RJ: Hi! Welcome back to Blast FM 107.9. You’re listening to Ground Zero with RJ Sophie and we have with us in the studio today, Mr. Iyer discussing the most explosive news of the day- India’s alarming population. He is a representative from the Government Family Planning Center in Bangalore. Welcome, sir.

Iyer: It is so nice to be here today. The current population of India is estimated to be 1.27 billion people. This is a lot.

RJ: “A lot” is an understatement, Mr. Iyer. So could you give us a few simple methods that we all can use to help this crisis?

Iyer: Well, so uh, see the government has already started public-awareness-programmes like ‘Hum Doh, Humare Doh’ to make the public aware of the need to have two children and nothing more. Also, contraceptives must be used sensibly to avoid unwanted population…

RJ: Yes, Mr. Iyer. We’ll come back to this discussion after this short-break. If any of you’ll want to speak to Mr. Iyer, please call 90009555. Stay tuned.
