Ich Bin Ein Berliner: Is it objective or subjective?

Firstly, what are the definitions of objectivity and subjectivity? These two words are very critical in deciding whether a particular situation is biased or not. Nowadays, we find that a lot of issues mentioned in the media are controversial in the sense that there would always be different opinions. The world has always been like that, and would never cease to stop. Humans have become used to the fact that their thoughts matter most than the opposing party. Others seem to have more of a neutral view in their arguments, which can be a positive aspect, as well as negative. To understand more why I feel like this particular video is subjective, it is important to find out how the dictionary defines objectivity and subjectivity. According to Google Dictionary, subjectivity is the judgment based on individual personal impressions and feelings and opinions rather than external facts. On the other hand, the same dictionary source expresses objectivity as the absence of bias and prejudice, fairness, fair-mindedness, equitableness, equitability, even-handedness, and justness. Now that we have a clear view of what these two words mean, it is important to note that this video is based on Portugal, which is a European nation that has been going through changing times ever since its independence from dictatorship in 1974. The short film praises the way Portugal handled its economy during its sports events such as Euro 2004, its wide variety of car exports, its country’s literacy (being one of the lowest in Europe), and other positive aspects. While it is admirable for a country to mention its achievements, it degrading to blame another nation for their lack of improvements in certain areas. What do I really mean by that?
