his paper will cover the management structure within Lockheed Martin, specifically in the (JSF) Joint Strike Fighter program. It will discuss a brief history of the JSF program and explain in detail the product provided by Lockheed Martin. It will also include the hierarchy of management, the role of each manger, the perception of their management tactics, and what I would change if I were in their position. I will also explain what department I work for and how our work directly impacts the success of the JSF.

Throughout corporate America, there are many different styles of management that companies incorporate in order to make their companies successful. No matter what kind of product or service they are providing, a company is only as strong as the management that supports it. Throughout the course of this paper I have learned that Lockheed Martin has a unique, yet successful style of management incorporated within the JSF program.

The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, also known as the Lightning 2, is a new stealth fighter jet that began procurement in 2007. The JSF program is the largest procurement program in the Department of Defense and plans to distribute three major variants to the United States Air Force, Marine Corps, and the Navy. Hundreds of F-35's are expected to be purchased by several United States allies, eight of which that are invested financially and militarily in the success of the program. The F-35 plans to replace multiple platforms in three different branches of the military, making the JSF the first ever successful multi-role stealth fighter.

The JSF was originally conceived under the notion that by creating three common versions of essentially the same aircraft, the program could create an affordable fifth-generation strike fighter.
