Weapons in Vietnam

The Vietnam War brought many new weapons and war tactics into the way war was fought. New forms of weapons and bombing were formed and used during Vietnam which caused lasting effects on humans and vegetation all across Vietnam. The United States sent many young boys to this war where they grew up to become men. These men were well trained and ready for the new weapon technology. Many new technologies were formed including massive planes and rifles that could pretty much hold up to any type of climate. Deadly forms of gasses were dropped out of planes over large areas of land to kill all people and land that the gas hit. Planes such as the B-52 Bomber, rifles such as the M-16 and devastating gasses such as Napalm are all deadly forms of weapons which were all used in the Vietnam War.

When the thought of war is in mind thoughts such as planes dropping bombs come into mind. In Vietnam this was no different than any other war to use planes on deadly bombing missions. The B-52 bomber was a very popular plane that the United States used in the war. With the help of smaller planes and the B-52 bomber the U.S. forces dominated the war in the sky (History Channel). This plane was a massive plane that would make the force on the opposite end of this plane shake in their boots. When looking at the other planes at the time of the war the B-52 was one of the biggest planes that put the other planes to shame. Just for an idea on how big this plane was refer to figure 1. The B-52 bomber could carry and release many different kinds of bombs but the most common types of bombs was high explosive bombs that could leave massive holes in the ground up to thirty feet across and deep (Trueman). With this huge plane many Americans would help push North Vietnam to surrender but it really just made matters worse.
