I have a sister who owns a small clothing store in North Carolina. At a dinner conversation with the family, she mentions her frustrations with having to manually track and reorder high demand orders. She would like to purchase an automated system but she is working with a small budget. Her business is constantly selling out of this popular style of shirts in assorted colors and it’s becoming a constant hassle to keep manually ordering this item. It becomes a bigger hassle when it comes time to check inventory because we have to look throughout massive paperwork to ensure that the quantities are properly notated.

I would put in a systems request, a formal ways of asking for IT support (Rosenblatt, 2012, p. 59). The system request might propose enhancements for an existing system, the correction of problems, the replacement of an older system, or development of an entirely new information system that is needed to support a company’s current and future business needs (p.59).Improving the services will ensure that the customers are satisfied, support more products, and giving the company stronger control over their inventory process.

After doing some research on inventory systems, I came across a company named Almyta systems. First, I need to make sure that she has an updated computer that has that meets the software requirements. An Almyta Control system costs $450 for a single-user license. My sister is the only person who does the ordering and keeps up with inventory; I felt this deal will suit her. The first year come with unlimited technical support therefore she has the first year to learn the ins and outs of the system with assistance.
