4G wireless Networks

The short form of the fourth-generation of wireless services is called 4G wireless which is advanced and enhanced from 3G wireless. The 4G wireless is a high-speed wireless service than 3G which is currently popular and well-known to everywhere but 4G is restricted to limited place.

There is different in basic technology within 4G service even though all 4G service is known as 4G. For example: Sprint employs WiMax technology for its 4G networks while Verizon employs LTE (Long Term Evaluation). 4G wireless is developed to deliver speed and its speed is supposed to be from 4 to 10 times faster than current 3G networks.

Compare and contrast 3G wireless networks to 4G networks in term of service and application:

These are distinct different between 3G wireless in comparison with 4G in term of service rendered by networks and its application. CDMA2000, UMTS and EDGE etc are examples of main services provided by 3G networks while Wimax2 and LTE-Advance are for 4G networks. The applications of both 3G and 4G wireless depend on their access to provided facilities. In this context, 3G subscribers get access video and audio, video calling, video conferencing and multimedia applications in the mobile environment where as 4G wireless provides its subscribers more up to date, advance and wide range facilities like fast mobile web access, mobile television, video conferencing, IP telephony and even 3D television.

Compare and contrast 3G wireless networks to 4G networks in term of network architecture:

Another comparison base for 3G and 4G is their network architecture. 3G is operated under Wide area cell based network which is totally based on circuit-switched subsystem while 4G is operated under integration of wireless LAN and Wide area and it is a packet based Internet Protocol (IP).
