Nature of Organization and Challenges
Science Application International Corporation (SAIC, 2012), is a Fortune 500 company, its subsidiaries have approximately 40,000 employees at locations worldwide. Bob Beyster founded Science Applications International Corporation in 1969 on the twin principles of satisfying customers and sharing the ownership of the company with those who help build it (SAIC, 2012). Based on these values, the company has grown to $10.1 billion in annual sales and 45,000 employees worldwide. SAIC is the largest research and engineering company in the United States.
Another way that SAIC has been able to maintain its growth is by creating a brand that’s based on ethics. When you hear SAIC you think of a reliable and trusted company. At SAIC, the core values define the culture and the way in which they conduct business. “At SAIC, our core values define our culture and the way in which we conduct business. They form the basis of our behavior and govern our decisions” (SAIC, 2012). There are five sets of values SAIC holds itself accountable to are accountability, integrity, respect, responsibility and trust.
Due to these moral codes and standard, individuals want to be part of a team that is based on these basic core values. SAIC has used tools that have been proven to be successful to draw diversified and unique talent. The way that this is measured as successful is the employee retention rate.
Individuals want to be part of such an elite and diversified team. A team that is known for honesty and the acceptance of a multicultural team.
Next you have the organizational stakeholders. This group is important because these are the individuals that build and work for the company. You need to keep this group happy to ensure they help...
