Chapter 3 The Global Marketplace

Intro to Business & Technology

Popularity Abroad

To conduct businesses or increase popularity with sports franchises abroad, the U.S must overcome complex economic relationships with the country in which they wish to gain popularity from. Since naturally the U.S government promotes and protects its interests in workers, companies and consumers, other countries try to do the same. This leads to a tuggle war that never ends between countries. So with this being said, without building an economic relationship abroad, U.S sports franchises and businesses will find it hard to increase there popularity so now this causes conflict with the countries abroad.

Ensuring Products

The U.S franchises ensure their products are appropriate for international markets when you see the “CE” mark on whichever products you may obtain. This indicates that the product has met the international standards for safety, health, and environmental responsibility. This all falls into one of the largest trading blocs in the european union or “EU” whose membership passes more than two dozen countries and half a billion people. The EU now constitutes the worlds largest economy by far.

Placing Tarrifs

A government with serious industries should always consider placing tariffs on their imported product or goods simply because placing a tariff can be levied to generate revenue to restrict trade, or to punish opposing countries for disobeying international trade laws. If you want less problems and your products to be licensly secured you need to place a tariff on them as you should. A government could also choose not to place a tariff but will include no taxes levied on imported goods or products so it results to less revenue income and less security on goods since other countries could now follow the international trade laws and not be punished for it because there are no tariffs to restrict trade within other countries.
