Selecting an information system for the organization can be timely and challenging. It is important to pay close attention to the specifics during this phase. The successful implementation of the information system will improve overall workflow, reach organization goals, and increase in profit and revenue. For many organizations, it has been a pleasure for most to be working with electric health systems that improve the quality of health care.
When the information system is implemented within the organization, internal and external stakeholders are affected by using the electronic health records implemented into the organization. Before selecting a system for the organization, it is important to set up a an implementation team of who will be the primary role to plan, coordinate, budget, and manage all aspect of the new system (Snyder & Paulson, 2002). The team must consist a project leader and key individuals from the clinical and administrative areas to keep the focus on that degree. Having the right people on the team will assure success of the new information system.
Once the implementation team is set up, next would be assessing the scope of the project and needs of the organization. Establishing a project plan will determine data creation, data management, data sharing, data presentation, and module management (Snyder & Paulson, 2002).that
Once the choices are narrowed out to a couple, researching each product will allow a wider view on how the system will be used in the organization (Snyder & Paulson, 2002).
Knowing the software product will better work with consultants, analysts, and salespersons.
