Kudler Fine Foods Computer Information System Brief

Kudler Fine Foods is a local upscale specialty food store established in 1998 by Kathy Kudler. Kudler is located in the San Diego metropolitan area in California. Kudler currently have three locations La Jolla, Del Mar and, Encinitas in San Diego. Kudler sells a variety of wines, and fresh food products such as bakeries, meat, seafood, packaged foods, cheese, and specialty dairy products. Based on my research of Kudler’s website, there is no doubt that Kudler Fine Foods has invested much in the management of their computer information system. However, Kudler’s computer information system needs some improvements. To improve Kudler’s computer system, I have analyzed Kudler’s current hardware and software systems, identified the strength and weaknesses of its current computer systems, and the threats that Kudler may encounter. I will conclude by providing my suggestions on how Kudler Fine Foods can improve its computer systems.

Kudler’s Current Computer System and Technology

Technology has evolved over the years, which has created new solutions to help business operate successfully. In accounting, technology plays a big role in effective accounting management because, of the technological advancement in businesses today. Kudler fine foods is a growing business, they need an effective and updated computer information system to grow effective. Kudler currently uses information technology to keep records of daily business and accounting activities.

This company currently uses Microsoft Office system. According to Kudler’s website, Kudler uses excel spreadsheet to keep its accounting records such as balance sheet, income statement, inventory reports, and the company’s budget. They use the flowchart system for their bank reconciliation and their cash, payroll, point of service, and purchasing procedures. Kudler also uses the following software and hardware:
