Introduction

McDonald’s Corporation tends to be the world’s largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants. The company serves about 69 million clients daily in over 100 countries across 36,000 outlets. McDonald’s headquarters is in United States, and it started in 1940 (Mieth, 2007). The company came into existence in 1940 when two brothers Dick and Mac considered the idea of opening several world class restaurants across the world. The revenue of the corporation come from royalties, rent, and fees paid by the franchisees and also the sales of the company-operated restaurants. Since the company's inception in 1955, McDonald’s have been serving it favorite food to thousands of customers. In 1961, McDonald’s filed for the US trademark in the name McDonald’s using the description drive-in restaurant services and it continued renewing through the end of December 2009 (Mieth, 2007). The main objective of the company is to understand the needs of clients and offer them the best services. Change in the organization is always present and exists both in the strategic and operational level. In this report, we discuss the management changes in McDonald’s and management changes that can positively impact the organization.

Key changes

The company’s ability to offer the best services to its clients has been helpful in retaining clients as they do not encounter problems with quality and services provided by McDonald’s. A management change that occurred since the inception of the company was how the management made decisions about their investments, shareholders, and also communication through the hierarchy. In order to change its management style, the company considered making decisions through involving all employees in the company and also customers (Jones, & Hill, 2010).
