Wal-Mart is one of the most recognized stores in the world. The company has become successful following the vision and values of its founder, Sam Walton. While the Walton family owns 49 percent of the company, the rest of the company is publicly traded. Wal-Mart has opened stores in numerous of locations including countries outside of the United States, and have products named after its founder called Sam’s Choice. Due to all of this and great leadership, Wal-Mart has become very successful.

Name of Company

Wal-Mart got is name from its founder Sam Walton. It is now one of the most recognized store name in the world.

Mission vision and values

Wal-Mart’s and Sam Walton’s mission is to save people money to help them live better. One of the reasons Wal-Mart has become successful is the value that management push to instill in every one of its associates. On its website, it states, “At the core of every one of our rules and customs is the basic value of respect-for the customer, associates, and suppliers.” Wal-Mart also has three basic Beliefs and Values. They are respect for the individual, service to our customers, and striving for excellence.

Ownership

While most of the stock is still owned by the Walton family, the rest of the shares are publicly held. Majority of employees have stocks in the company, or offered stocks once they start employment.

Size

Wal-Mart is now the biggest company on Earth. It employs 2.1 million people worldwide. It is a company name that is recognized all over the world.

Locations:

The company headquarters is located in Bentonville, Arkansas; however there are many store locations all over the US and the world. There are store locations in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua and the United Kingdom.
