Drinking water is becoming more and more contaminated every day. This is because many of the nation’s water treatment centers are violating key provisions that require safe drinking be provided to nearby residents. Many of these violations go unpunished which doesn’t help fight the contamination of the water. Over the past few years many studies have been conducted to support this claim. During the study many locations told the EPA that they would not comply with the rules in place until they are forced too. This is what is causing many people throughout the U. S. to get sick. Many of the systems today are still out of date but that will not change until the EPA decides to take action and force change in our nation’s water systems.

Many of our nation’s drinking water systems are out of date which is resulting in unsafe drinking water. Good drinking water depends on cities getting three things right. These things are lakes, streams, reservoirs and wells being protected from pollution, pipes being sound and well-maintained, and modern treatment facilities are a must. Some cities that do not have updated water systems are Atlanta, Albuquerque, and Fresno. The tap water in these cities contained unsafe traces of lead, pathogens, and arsenic. For example when studying the water system in Fresno, researchers found many unregulated contaminants that create certain health problems and that nitrate levels were high which created issues for pregnant women and many others. Many other cities have the same issues when it comes to their water systems. One city that is doing well with their water system is Chicago. In Chicago the water system is well formatted and reveals lots of information that is useful to the consumer. Water systems are out of date which is resulting in many health issues for people around the nation.

The second article is definitely more valid in my opinion. This is because they provided lists of cities and what is wrong and correct with each major city....
