Riordan Manufacturing is an industry leader in plastic injection molding with a worldwide customer base in various industries and areas of business. Riordan has 550 employees across four locations in San Jose California, Albany Georgia, Pontiac Michigan, and Hangzhou China. Riordan Manufacturing is a part of Riordan Industries which has an excess of 1 billion dollars a year revenues. Each of Roldan’s’ locations plays a different role within the company. The San Jose, California location is the headquarters and also where all research and development is done. The other locations all are manufacturing locations and produce plastic parts and goods. The plant in Albany, Georgia produces plastic beverage containers while Pontiac, Michigan produces custom plastic parts for various companies. The new plant in Hangzhou, China meanwhile produces plastic fans. While Riordan Manufacturing is by no means a huge company the diverse locations and employees requires that the Human Resources department has the ability to work with all employees as effectively as possible.

In order to give the Human Resources department the ability to do their job effectively the system needs to be up to date and working at its full capacity. Human resources is an important part of Riordan Manufacturing and manages many vital parts of the company. Not only is this information vital it is also important to keep it secure since they will be dealing with employee’s personal information. The Human Resources system includes employee files, job classifications, EEOC reports, policies and procedures, and organizational charts. While these are often behind the scenes they are very important in a well-run company and need to be managed properly.

Before upgrades and changes to the Human Resources system can be made or even planned it is necessary that key stakeholders must be notified and involved in the upgrade process. This...
