Worldview Beliefs

There are a lot of questions people face every day. Throughout our lives we experience different people and views of the world. As we take in all these views, you start to think of questions about what we are experiencing, that is human nature. The answers we come up with for these questions are what is called a worldview. As we go through the next few paragraphs, we will discuss some of those hard life questions.

Defining Worldview

According to Merriam-Webster, a worldview is “the way someone thinks about the world,” (Worldview| Definition of Worldview by Merriam-Webster). I explain worldview as how we react to our interpretation of life. “A worldview is your philosophy of life. It is the framework you bring to decision-making” (Weider & Gutierrez, 2013). The main concept you can take from worldview is that everyone has one and everyone has their own opinion on the matter because we all have different beliefs. The object is to be able to know what you believe, but be able to back it up with facts as best you can. You have to know your beliefs so you can have faith and trust that what you explain to people is true.

Origin: How did mankind come to exist?

One big question everyone argues over is where did we come from or how did life begin. There are some groups that believe in The Big Bang Theory, everything just appeared and evolved. If this is true, then life holds no value and our morals go out the window. We would have nothing to live for, we could do whatever we want with no consequences. For Christians, like me, we believe and have faith that the Bible holds truth. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1 New International Version Bible), and “On the sixth day, God created man and woman and saw everything that He made and declared that it was very good" (Genesis 1:31 New International Version Bible), which means God made man for a purpose and that is where we get our...
