Worldview

The definition of worldview to me is an overall perspective from which how an individual sees and interprets the world. It’s a collection of thoughts and personal beliefs about life and the universe.

The Christian worldview on the origin of life, the inception of everything that exists to include humans and animals was as a result of God. Instead of life coming from non-living matter, life came from life in the form of our eternally living God (Genesis 1:1). Man is not a result of an evolutionary process; man is unlike animals in that he is created in the “image of God” as thus stated in Genesis 1:27. We did not evolve from animals, but we were created by dirt of the earth and the breath of GOD.

The question about Identity the Bible answers this question by stating that men were created in God’s image and likeness, to replenish and subdue the earth and have power over every living thing on Earth (Genesis 26-28). Unlike animals man has a spirit along with bodies whereas animals do not. Animals lack that special value that comes from being created “in the image of God.”

Christians believe that their meaning/purpose of mankind is to know God. Not just to worship Him but to have deep and loving relationship with Him. As Christians our main concern in life is to work in God’s kingdom and have a relationship with him. Other worldly or materialistic concerns have less to no value at all in a Christian purposeful life as stated in Luke 12:15-21. God requires that serving Him must be the most important thing in life for us to do.

To a Christian, the definition of moral behavior comes directly from God through biblical texts or revelation, therefore moral behavior is nothing more than obedience to God’s commands. A Christian believes that all men are born into the World as a sinner. Sin is of course the wrong thing to do in life because a sin is something or anything that is against God.
