Subject: Accountant

I enjoy what I currently do as a senior accountant with all the daily tasks that belong to my job. I ultimately want to move up to become a controller. I’m currently completing my bachelor’s degree in accounting and will be pursing my CPA in the future. Throughout my entire working career, I’ve develop a lot of attributes. To name a few, I’m much disciplined, have a strong work ethic background, and am able to work efficiently and effectively simultaneously. These attributes have allowed me to excel in my working career and guide me to my career path in accounting.

Most of the employers search for candidates that have an accounting background which includes but not all: examining, analyzing, and preparing financial records and statements (Kibble & Prentice, 2016). According to a survey by Accountemps, employers also seek several non-accounting job skills when evaluating candidates for accounting roles (Robert Half, 2014). See below in Table 1.

I currently have several years in experience in accounting all while pursing my bachelor’s degree in accounting. I am very proficient with Microsoft Office and Great Plains. I’ve very stringent with time management and utilize it in the most efficient and effective way. I’m very organized and highly detailed oriented. I have the charismatic to work well with other people in all levels of management however am also discipline enough to work alone.
