This case study gives us an impact of other cultures in regards to be able to understand people
from other countries when interacting with them. There are few examples of how national
culture is crucial in business operation and communication in cross - cultural environment.
The Case of Ethnic theory of plane crashes is based on cultural differences in business
operation and communication between Asia, Latina America, United States and other western
countries.
Culture presents our image of basic concerns, principles, ethics, manners, rituals, ideologies,
strategies, tactics of the way we live our life including our good and bad deeds.
As Edward Hall thinks that culture is a means of communication which can take place through
symbols, or ”silent languages ”. He identifies five silent languages: the language of time, space,
material goods, friendship and agreements.
The language of time - In each culture approach to time is different. Some respect the time and
realist with it and people in this culture are accurate and punctual with the time. In other cultures
people are less strict and precise with the time. They look at postpones or delays with less
importance.
The language of space – Each culture has boundaries of social distance and in these norms they
keep certain limits of intimacy, friendship and formality. Such as standing close to each other can
be absolutely normal for one culture and it can be uncomfortable for another. In some countries
