Classic Airlines is marketing their services to the public that they have the better airline. Classic faces several challenges since according to the scenario that the shareholders lost faith because of falling stock prices and decrease ridership due to the media as well as a reduction in staff which is always a sign of difficult times (UOP scenario , 2011). As a marketing specialist due to the reduction in staff that Classic has already cut it is recommended that the only way to regain the trust of your shareholders and acquire new ones is to lower prices and increase ridership rewards. A three year marketing plan that includes marketing the benefits that the airline offers compared to other airlines. This plan markets the scope of the operation with the reduced prices already with the current advertisements on TV and the internet. With the use of infomercials and clever advertisements this airline will profitable again.

According to the text an entity like Classic could choose a strategy and develop it to fit what they decided needed to be done. In this case Classic airlines need to remarket their existing product and tackle the market (Kotler, 2007). What needs to happen as stated earlier lower prices and increase ridership rewards. Use creative advertising with the new advertisement to increase sales in a market where they lost most of their customers. Classic could diversify by selling new products in more markets and upgrading ones in existing markets. Classic has lost the trust of its shareholders but this something that easily regained with effective marketing and a plan that demonstrates money invested will yield a great return. Shareholders over the years were concerned that Classic was not going to able to remain competitive as some jump ship to keep from losing money. Yes, some positions would have to be cut and most likely will keep the pertinent players that are on board with this transition.
