Medical School Application Essay

Until the accident my mentality has been reminiscent of a feather in the wind; I trained martial arts, hang out with friends and on my ‘spare time’ went to school. It was not until that month of both accidents that I would learn to appreciate life and discover my calling. The two incidents opened a new dimension of life by obtrusively affecting me; in one incident I was helping my friend by driving his car and the car was smashed up with another car whose driver was injured badly and in other incident facing the crash of my mother’s car on the highway after a few weeks of the first incident. The accidents had a great impact on me and I recognized that I must be in health care where I can help other people when they need the aid and assistance to carry on with their lives.

My journey of health care started when I offered my services at the recovery center where my mother was having treatment. I worked under Dr. Bringleson who was the leading therapist at the rehabilitation center. Before the accidents I did not have any interest in studies and thought to open my personal martial arts training center however later on I consulted my high school supervisor and started to apply in different colleges and soon took admission in Centennial College General Arts and Science program. This was the first time I had interest in studies and started to progress in a shorter time which shocked my high school teachers as I was a below average student before. I provided guidance to the average students and lead them in studies and in this way I completed my graduation with an honors diploma. All my motivation came from the improvements in my mother’s health, information about the medical treatments and last but not the least from the impact the two accidents had on me.
