Greenpeace is an organization that helps spread the awareness about global warming in the world. They not only cover the issue in cities but in the forests, oceans, and mountains as well. Their goal is to teach people about the dangers of global warming and what we can do to prevent it. They hope to one day educate people enough to where our world might recover from global warming and thrive, Greenpeace, 2012”. Global warming refers to the rising average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans and its projected continuation. Global warming is a serious issue that needs taking care of now before it destroys our earth in the years to come. With our atmosphere, slowly deteriorating from the release of toxic gasses and fumes into our ozone layer the sun’s rays are becoming hotter. The polar ice caps are beginning to melt and the oceans are rising. The homes of animals and humans are being destroyed. In addition, this contributes to the pollution in our oceans. Not only does global warming affect our forests and oceans but our communities are affected as well. As northern places warm up disease-carrying insects such as mosquitos migrates. Warmer waters mean a greater risk of storms and hurricanes’, which will have a deadly and devastating effect on our communities. One of the biggest affects global warming has on our communities is heat waves and droughts. We constantly have to be aware and conservative with our water usage. If this continues, our water supply could become to dangerously low if not empty. Educating people on the dangers of global warming is extremely important, “Environmentalgraffiti, 2012”. Oil is one of the biggest contributors to our world’s global warming issue. Burning oil releases carbon dioxides into the atmosphere.
