Executive summary

This report was commissioned to assess Performance Management by two organisations as to understand how these organisations plays its role to have effective performance managements system.

The study conducted in this research involves two organisations i.e Danisco and Philips. Danisco is a world leader in food ingredients, enzymes and bio-based solutions uses nature’s own materials, science and the knowledge of people. Philips in other hand is a people-focused, market-driven company that is organized around customers and markets.

The research draws attention on how these two different organisations appraise their performance management. Both of organisations are using the same model in their People Performance Management system. People Performance is a chain to hold people, strategy and business objective together as well as process for managing the performance and development of the employee and it also links the reward system. The cycle of people performance management system is objective planning, monitoring, evolution, rewards and engagement of people.

The fact that these two organisations have the same model for their performance management however the tools used in managing and conducting the cycle of the model.

Thus, to have an effective performance management standard it is recommended:

• 360 Degree Feedback for enhancement of performance evaluation

• Employee Self Assessment for effectiveness of performance evaluation process

• Providing Feedback for the employee to provide feedback to management
