2.0 Quality

As a well-established computer giant, let us look into Dell the key factor for its success. Quality inside the operation means consistently producing services and Computer’s operations strategy in terms of quality, speed, dependability, flexibility and cost which has been products certain specifications that not only lead to external customer satisfaction but makes life easier inside the operations as well (Nigel Slack, Stuart Chambers & Robert Johnston, 2010). A good quality product will not only help to reduce cost, but will also increase its dependability. However, for Dell, the company is still working on its quality. The company has had to recall several products in the recent past owing to quality issues. In August 2006, the company announced the recall of 4.1 million notebook batteries owing to fire risk. These Dell-branded batteries were based on Sony cells. According to the company, it is possible for these batteries to overheat, which could pose a risk of fire. In December 2005, the company offered replacement batteries for some models of Dell Latitude, Dell Precision, and Dell Inspiron notebook computers owing to quality issues (Carmen Nobel , 2000) . The company also recalled several other products in previous years owing to quality problems, including AC adapters, printers and Auto-Air power adapters in 2004, and batteries in 2000 and 2001. Several product recalls in the past few years reflect poorly on the quality function at Dell. Dell was forced to recall products in the past few years owing to quality issues, meaning that the company may not have fully succeeded in accomplishing its own quality goals. 3.0 Speed

The next performance objective would be speed. Speed is concerned with how long customers have to wait to receive their products or services.
