Organization Profile: Viyellatex Group

Viyellatex is a fast growing privately owned multi-dimensional business group in Bangladesh. It is headquartered in Khortoil, Tongi, Gazipur. Viyellatex Group is operating in five different industries – readymade garment, fabric (knitting, dyeing, washing etc.), yarn (spinning), logistic management services, and tea. The primary products of readymade garment units are knit and woven apparel; fabric unit produces a variety of knit fabric; spinning unit produces carded, combed and open ended yarn; logistics unit serves as a ‘pick & pack’ support; and the tea garden produces tea. A Chief Operating Officer (COO) or Managing Director (MD) runs these units and they report to the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the group.

Viyellatex has performed exceptionally well in the reporting year despite the recession. This has been possible because of the hard work and dedication of the employees to maintain consistent quality and to cope up with the global standard.

Organization Overview: Viyellatex

The core business unit of Viyellatex is Viyellatex Garments Limited which is a knit apparel manufacturing factory. There are separate units for yarn, fabric & accessories as well as printing and woven garments. Viyellatex has recently diversified its business through entering in a new sector last year. It has acquired a tea garden and started selling tea. The group is also planning to expand into ship building in the near future and thus will contribute more to the national economy.

Generally the organization operates mainly in RMG sector of Bangladesh. It has presence in backward linkage of RMG such as yarn production (spinning), fabrication (knitting), Dyeing, Embroidery, Printing and Accessories sector. Viyellatex’s forward linkage facility includes Washing and Logistics Management Services which is a new extension of business for the company with a lucrative business aspect.
