I.

1. If you were a manager, which would you value more in an employee: competence or attitude? Explain your answer.

For me, as the manager of a possible store, I would prefer having an employee with a good attitude rather than a employee with the mind set of being competent but lacks good attitude. Base on my experience as the President of Lucid Dance Troupe, there are dancers who are really competent to the extent that they prefer to leave the weak ones (base on skills) just to get stronger. Attitude is important because it is the main attribute to make relationships with other people, in work or in the community you belong to.

I would rather be with an employee who is willing to learn and has a good attitude on handling situations rather than a competent employee who is ignorant. I value creating relationships with the costumers because they are the ones who patronize your store and with that I could build trust and competency can follow.

2. Among the three reasons behind employee/group member motivation, which do you think is the most powerful? Why?

I think the most powerful motivator is to work for a reward. In my organization, dancing for an incentive can give a boost to effort and motivation especially if it something that you can use. For the work setting, monetary rewards can motivate the employees to work harder due to their expenses and everyday needs.

As a student, rewards can be helpful particularly when it is about grades or maybe excepted on final exams. Rewards can make and employee strives for that prize and is more competent if that is the goal of the boss.

II. Situation Simulation

**I am naming the employee who is being talked about in the question Jeff to minimize confusion**
