Testing a Theory

I have never really tested a theory; but what I did do was a test with my son medication. The importance of this research is because of the fact that my son suffers from ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and ODD (oppositional defiant disorder). We have been to so many doctors, psychiatrist and counselors. Nothing has seemed too worked. Finally I got fed up and I asked his doctor to refer us to another doctor. We had gotten to know a psychologist that had a very good reputation. When we finally got an appointment, he really observed my son by inquiring how and when my son really does get annoyed and angry. This was very important to me because I didn’t want my son to be kicked out of school. So I had to be sure that this matter is sorted out before it gets out of proportion. The psychologist told me that he wanted my son to try a different medication. The important thing was not how the medication had to be consumed but what was the correct time to give him the medication. I needed to find the right time of day to give it to him. I even did some research myself on the internet to find out if the medication had any side effects. When I first started giving him the medicines, I found that there effects didn’t last the entire day. Then the doctor told me to try to give it to him at 8am and give him a bigger dose, I had to go back and get another prescription. After hours of relentless effort we finally came up with the correct quantity and the correct time for the meds. Giving him the meds at 8 am with a stronger dose lasted him until about 6 pm. The other meds were given to him at 6 pm and then his sleeping pill at 7 pm and that lasted all night. Since my methods were approved by a psychologist, I felt very comfortable trying them.
