I am writing for two purposes: to convey to you the final recommendation of the committee regarding the multi-million highway project and to present my ideas and opinions on the recommendation. I am a minority in the said committee that was formed to come up with the most advantageous and cunning list of infrastructures to be saved from the demolition that the highway project will cause. Although the list was thoroughly evaluated, I still have some minor disagreement due to some things that was not considered.

The list contains the following:

(1) Public Market

(2) Textile Factory

(3) Commercial Bank

(4) Public Schools

(5) Two Century Old Church

So, I will start from the fifth infrastructure chosen to be maintain, the two century old church. The church was chosen due to several reasons. One, it is considered to be a historical figure because it is where the first mass of town was held. Second, because it can be converted into a tourist spot which will contribute to the funds of the town. And lastly, due to the simple fact that it is a “two century old” church. It has a value that cannot be compared even to the tallest and grandest building in Metro Manila. However, based on my own evaluation, it deserves to be the second in priority along with the 5-star hotel on the third spot. I arrived at this conclusion after taking in to consideration the aspect of “tourism”, which I think is a great political aspect or area. Moreover, if we are to combine the pull of both the church and the hotel on tourist and the easy access and convenience that the new highway will provide, the tourism of the town will grow and benefit the town, as well as the government. On the other hand, I think the infrastructure which deserves to be on the fifth spot is the textile factory. It deserves to be on the list because 3,000 is quite big number of men that can be a burden to the society and to the government if they lose their jobs. However, among my five choices, it is...
