If you are feeling desperate to lose weight and can’t decide between a weight loss program, such as weight watchers or diet pills,” Weight watchers” is more of a life style change and can be time consuming. Diet pills on the other hand are kind of the easy way out but sometimes not the healthiest choice. So I guess the question is, Are you more worried about the amount of time it takes to lose the weight or your health?

In 1961, Jean Nidetch decided a size 44 dress was too big. She called up some friends and had a meeting discussing their “downfalls” when it came to losing weight. They continued to have these meetings each week for mutual support and shared their weight loss stories. These “little” meetings turned into bigger meetings, as the word spread that they were successfully losing weight. As time went on, these meetings turned into a company called “weight watchers”. They have scientists researching the best food plans. “Weight watchers” is international now. It has over a million members in 27 different countries. With such a big number of members “Weight Watchers” must be very successful is what most of you are thinking, right? “ Weight watchers” is a life altering change and takes some time and money. It just might be worth it though.

“Weight Watchers” has come a long way and now is using what they call the “points plus system.” In the points plus program you are allotted a certain amount of points according to your sex, weight, height, age, and activity level. Basically the amount of points you get is what you are allowed to eat in a whole day time. Each food you eat has a point value according to the fat content and such but they already have a system made up where all you have to do is look up the food and put it in their special calculator to get the point value of the food.
