Gods,Hereos and Myths

This article discusses the myths of past civilzations,such as the Romans,Greeks,Nordics and Eygptians and how they seem to still stay alive in our modern world.Through Religion,Architecture,lieterature,Art and Television.Myths are seen as fabled stories about actions of gods and heroes, the origins of the world, humanity, or the origin of some populace. The article goes on to explain the similarities between majors icons of two cultures from vast timelines; Zues and our modern day God.It shows,not only the similair looks and places,but the similiar lessons that are taught throught these "different" icons.Also,it goes on to compare the Architecture of America's most important buildings such as the White House and the Pantheon or the Art in the United States Capital known as the "Apotheosis of Washington".

Odyssey:A long and eventful journey.

Teogony:The genealogy of a group or system of gods.

Iliad:A Greek epic poem ascribed to Homer, telling how Achilles killed Hector at the climax of the Trojan War.

The main topic discussed in this article is that the fabled gods of civilizations such as the Greeks and Roman were the "Ground Zero" for what would later become the icons of modern day superheroes and religous figures.It talks about the similarities between the myths and icons,both in how they were represented,seen and the effect they had on the people of the culture.This may not seem like something to connect to Anthropolgy but it has quite a standing in the study.Cultural Anthropology is the study of how a culture changes overtime.While this is two different cultures we are talking about the idea is still the same.Myths and legends don't change that much overtime,even if that time is 60,000 years ago.

I chose this article because i find myths to be the most fascinating thing in a culture.They are the methods that a culture will use to explain the world around them and the things they cannot understand.And it's...
