Abstract

Decades ago, when companies introduced teams into their production processes, it makes news because no one else was doing it. Today, it is just the opposite. The organization that does not use teams has become newsworthy. Teams are everywhere (p.122).

Titin (2011) explained that team building in an office helps foster better and open communication between employees themselves, and between employees and the higher management. It goes a long way in improving professional relations, understanding, and co-operation, and this is very much reflected in the quality of work done. Team building in the workplace significantly contributes towards employee motivation and building trust among employees, thereby ensuring better productivity. Making the team, a unit and improving coordination between its members is one of the important goals to be achieved on the way to success. Activities aimed at team building can certainly play a part in the success of a project or even a long-term goal. Even simple activities would help employees to get into a better mood.

Team Building and Impact on the Workplace

Today in the business area teamwork plays vital role and that is the topic most been discussed. Simply the organizations will not perform but the people. Teams always recognize itself as a useful machine in achieving organizations goals. This is because of its characteristics, which influence the performance of the organization. We can see that in a team there will be different members involving in working toward its goals. Here we can see different skilled people as well as different individual behaviors. Teamwork gives a synergy mixing of these people. When it comes to decision-making, teams play vital role since the team members has to participate in the decision-making processes.
