1) Hello, my name TSgt Jose A. Escorza and I’m very excited of starting this class. My major is IT Management and this is my 3rd year at AMU. I’m currently in the USAF-Active Duty and I just hit my 12-year mark. I’m a Health Professions recruiter in Los Angeles, CA. This class is my final requirement to get my BS. I’m looking forward to learning more about IT and interact with my classmates. I have been able to access the textbook for this class.

2) After reviewing the requirements for the research paper, I will be analyzing the company I currently working for, US Air Force, Air Force Recruiting Command. AFRS employs more than 2,000 active duty members and more than 200 civilian, all spread out in more than 900 locations world-wide.

3) The digital economy affects the military differently than other companies. The military community views itself as a part (large part) of the government wide effort. Privacy and security are two key issues that the military faces while working with other companies. For the military, successful online commerce will demands a high degree of trust--which means putting in place acceptable levels of security. AFRS transfers huge amounts of information back and forward from hundreds of recruiting offices – in civilian communities to other secure locations and military installations. This information is always vulnerable and therefore has to be safeguarded.

4) Some of the business pressures that the Air Forces faces are budgets constrains, meeting DOD requirements, providing worldwide customer service and personnel training, just to name a few. Every year, we are required to do the same amount of work with less money, resources, and personnel and still meet all expectations. IT helps out to meet these demands but sometimes it is not enough due to outdated technologies and procedures.
