The company I chose to do my “Company Analysis and Strategic Plan” on is photography giant Kodak. Kodak is properly known as the Eastman Kodak Company has its corporate offices located in Rochester, New York and is incorporated in New Jersey. Kodak is best known for its photo imaging services and products. Kodak’s global sales and marketing is managed by region. To accommodate this Kodak has an overseas daughter company conveniently named Kodak Limited. Kodak Limited handles the European, African and Middle Eastern Region. The office for this subsidiary is located in Hertfordshire, England. England is home to three of Kodak Limited’s manufacturing plants located in Northwest London, Liverpool, and Nottinghamshire. You will also find seven processing labs in England.

An additional subsidiary that Kodak has is FPC Inc. FPC/Film Salvage is an leading provider of environmentally sound dismantlement and recycling services for Kodak products reaching the end of their life cycle. FSC has locations in Hollywood, California; Mountain City, Tennessee; and Milan, Italy (Kodak , 2013). There is an added benefit to the environmental disposal process. It supports motion picture studios’ anti-piracy support program by securely destroy their films and keeping them out of the hands of pirates.

Kodak was established by George Eastman in 1888. Kodak followed what is known as the “razor and blades” business strategy. This is when one item is sold at a low price in order to increase sales of complementary items. With the cameras being the inexpensive item that generated the need for more expensive items such as film, chemicals, and paper.

With the slogan "you press the button, we do the rest," George Eastman put the first simple camera into the hands of consumers. In so doing, he made a bulky and complicated process easy to use and accessible to nearly everyone. (Kodak , 2013).
