A wireless router is a device that receives an Internet signal from a modem and then transmits a signal for other devices to connect to the internet wirelessly. This is a very important device when it comes to setting up a WLAN and all wireless devices require the signal that this device provides to create a WLAN. This device can either be connected to a network physically or wirelessly. The price of a wireless router varies greatly they range in price from $19.99 to as much as $9,377.57 for a commercial gateway router. For the average home use a router is usually around 150 dollars. A wireless router is related to a wireless access point because it offers a network signal to an area for people to use.

According to "Gcf Learnfree.org" (2013) “A computer is an electronic device that manipulates information, or "data." It has the ability to store, retrieve, and process data. You can use a computer to type documents, send email, and browse the internet.” Computers are essential to any form of network. Without a computer there would be no reason to have a network. Although with the advent of laptops the computer workstations are being replaced because the laptop offers more maneuverability if needed. They can be connected to a network both physically and wirelessly. According to "Noble Pc's" (2013), “the average cost of PC’s today is between $275 and $1600.” A computer is different than all of these other devices because it can connect to a network in a couple of different ways. All though when you put a computer together in a network it is dependent on devices like a wireless router of access point to be connected to the network.
