Assignment 1: Crafting and Executing Strategy

A great business can be defined as one with long Gevity, a great reputation and a big heart. Most local businesses strive off these charteristics, centering their influx on the community and people. Larger business focuses on the mass, financial gain and innovation. Business rather big or small has a strategy that sets a foundation on how that business should be operated. Ambition and drive giving the energy you need to hurdle obstacles and tackle seemingly impossible tasks is a must have qualification for a business. Disciplined work ethics and high standards for quality, rather employees or customers is what drive a business. Giving back to the community rather financial or physical support should also be a main ingredient in any business. Interactivity putting these ingredients together with a leader that possess the same leadership qualities as the vision of the business makes for a successful industry.

Too often, nonprofit leaders confuse strategic planning that simply develops programs or services in response to community needs or availability of funds (for instance, funds are available for food programs, so they plan a food program). Such planning lacks visionary exercises that look to the future and identity what the organization needs to do differently to fulfill its mission. (“Thompson,” 2011, p. 18)

Diversified Communities, Working Together, Living Together, Exceeding the challenge is the mission statement that would best fit the company and aide in its success. Nonprofit organizations are too important to settle for mere survival (Thompson, 2011). Working for and with disadvantaged children and their families to ensure a brighter future for the state and nation will be the essential area to achieve that mission.
