Abstract

The following report provides information based upon factors within the directed assignment for the course. In this case the direction was directed to provide a hypothetical business where as the requirements for registration for the various governmental contract requirements are met for active response to requests for proposals are concerned. Also provided is the mission statement for the business and examples of current opportunities and the preparation necessary that the business development team would have to take action on to respond to the announcement.

The below report provides the necessary information for the preparation, registration and active announcement considerations for the subject business as required by the assignment. In the assignment, it is required to determine a business model or area and what is required for registration within the NAICS, SIC, FSC, PCR PSC databases. It must be understood that in this report that in year 2000, the National American Industry Classification System (NAIC) replaced or phased in as a replacement for the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) (U.S. Census, 2011) Registration for businesses to compete for governmental work is a long process and required that the business owner or owners divulge detailed information to include business model, dynamic, employee structure, business type, financial status and account information, and DUNS and CAGE codes, contact information (Central Contracting Registration, N/A). As stated this can be a time consuming process for the individual business and especially the small start-up businesses to satisfy within their economic means. With no income coming in, this is a huge overhead cost for just a possible future opportunity.
