Work Culture Preferences

It is important for one to know and understand which type of work culture suits them the best. This knowledge is valuable when determining which occupation or team is the best fit for your situation. The best work is done in an environment you are comfortable with. After completing the Work Culture Preferences Survey the results indicate that the best environment is high powered, team centered, and well resourced (University of Phoenix, 2013).

My Cultural Preferences

First, I would be best suited to a high powered culture meaning a job with high demand and a high level of career advancement. In this position, rapid promotion would be likely, high wages, and the ability to do multiple tasks in many areas. Next, working in a close-knit team environment would be beneficial. According to the survey results, I would thrive in working closely with suppliers and customers. Moreover, working in a safe environment that has adequate resources to do a high level of work is culturally preferred.

Strategic Planning and SWOT

Knowledge of expected work culture while developing strategic and operational plans is an important part or an organization and on an individual level as it helps describe the shared value within the organization. Strategic management is used to help develop strategies for an organization (Coulter & Robbins, 2012), and knowing what works best will aid in company success. In addition, identifying the mission of the organization and the direction they are headed can help in creation of a SWOT analysis. The SWOT analysis would help determine the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. By identifying an opportunity or threat a company can be better attuned to the needs of the business and their employees to remain successful. It is important for management to maintain a strong ethical climate within the company as they continually follow good practices and procedures with their employees....
