Personality Characteristics

Early Development

During the early development of my life my mother and father divorced when I was only five years of age. One main factor why my mother divorced my dad was due to drugs. I never understood the reason behind the whole ordeal. I know everyone makes mistakes, but growing up without the father figure was kind of difficult. My mom was working and never had time to talk to me about any problems that had occurred. Around the age of ten I would be hanging in the streets with friends and I had no curfew. During the night my mom would go out with her friends, instead of spending the little time she had with me. People make the wrong choices in life, and they don’t realize the impact it has on the children. I always thought that being a parent back when I was young a little easier, but I soon found out that it was not the case.

As I got older, I realized that being independent meant that I had a lot of responsibility. But I did not worry about why my parents were not together anymore. Being a teenager was difficult, I used to hang around the wrong crowed, being the follower instead of the leader. When people find out that you are kind, and support their habits they take advantage of the situation. I learned to be friends with myself, take care of my children, and everything will fall in place. I made sure to be there for my children when they needed someone to talk to. Taught them how important it is to take care of themselves, love others, and be respectful. I made many mistakes in my life time, but one thing is for sure I turned out to be me and not my dad.

Family and Social Relationships

The relationships I have with my family are being able to talk to one another without any arguments. I set up monthly meeting with my children to set guidelines as what needs to be accomplished.
