6. Give a brief plot summary

The movie begins in Paris with Driss driving Phillipe in the car fast and reckless because Phillipe loves fast things. Driss is his caregiver and an excon. The plot of the movie is Phillipe needing a caregiver and him wanting someone that has no pity on him as he is a quadriplegic. Driss has no pity what so ever because he never really wants the job in the first place, he only goes to the interview to get a paper signed for his welfare benefits. During the movie you can see both these men change for the better because of each other. Phillipe helps Driss find him-self and teach him how to work harder. Driss helps Phillipe know he is still alive and can have a great life still and to stop letting the chair live his life. Both men are stubborn as hell at first and at the end I was crying at the relationship that had developed.

The social issues in the film are you would never think that a billionaire would choose an excon with nothing to lose to take care of your everyday needs or a gangster pot smoking childish man to accept a job of taking care of an older quadriplegic. Another social issue is Phillipe’s adopted daughter Elisa’s crappy attitude and how she thinks she can talk down and rude to Driss because he is black and not rich.
