Gov. Chris Christie: Overrated?!

January 19, 2010, a longtime resident of New Jersey, Christopher James Christie, became governor of New Jersey and brought many personality traits that were never seen before, promising many things to the people of New Jersey but failed to succeed. Leaving many of our people wondering is Gov. Chris Christie a bad governor, or as many say an “overrated” governor?

I, however, also believe that Gov. Chris Christie is very much overrated; although he is completely skilled at what he does as a politician and he knows exactly what he wants for the people of New Jersey, it seems that unfortunately he only knows how to “talk the talk” but tactlessly doesn’t know how to “walk the talk.” There are many reasons as too why the New Jersey’s community looks down upon him starting from the job searches in New Jersey and ending with the property taxes of this state.

First of all, the job ranking of New Jersey has come to 44th in the job growth since Christie took office, bringing the unemployment rate to 8.6 percent compared to the national rate of 7.3 percent. Also, the fees are rising drastically and the spending has increased for the past three years of his time in office. However, there is a struggle between democratic representatives in New Jersey and Governor Chris Christie. Both parties have their doubts and are a bit unsecure with their differences over a bill that would allow people to continue receiving unemployment benefits. With unemployment just above 9 percent it is hard to find jobs for the people that keep searching desperately. But what is questioned the most is how can they still be enrolled in a state-mandated job training program and still continue receiving unemployment benefits.
