Managing Diversity/Evaluation

The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. However, I’m going to be focus on only three types of diversities and analyze how they can impact manager perception of how diversity can influence the organization at the workplace.

The first diversity form is experience. In fact, managers prefer to hire people with higher level of experience than other with not experience. The reason for is that they have long-term potential and lot of knowledge. Manager wants people in their organization know how to help it company to make their way up to the top. So according to him, it is best to have someone who is experienced and can grow with the company. Also manager believed experiment employee has ability to work well with others. Finally, people with experience can easily help make money. In fact they know more about what to do in order to increase the organization's revenues or decrease its costs. However manger do not forget that even if hiring people can have some advantage, they have also some disadvantage such employees with higher experience don’t want to share their knowledge and experience with other and this can be a problem for the organization. Therefore as a solution, managers need to push the experiment employees to work with those who are not.

The second diversity form is ethnicity. Manager believe that employees with difference culture and believe can have a good impact on the organization. Each person can bring new ideas to the organizations. In fact, they can learn from their differences and then try to work with it for the purpose of the organization. However ethnicity...
