It claims the Palestinian territories (defined according to the 1967 borders) and has designated Jerusalem as its capital. The areas constituting the State of Palestine have been occupied by Israel since 1967 in the aftermath of the Six Day War, with the Palestinian Authority exercising limited socio-political administration since 1993.
